Easter Holiday Junior Competitions
A busy easter holidays brought a great spread of winners with some excellent scoring. The two week spell started with the traditional Easter Cup played on Easter Saturday, The weather made scoring very tough, but it was season rookie and order of merit leader Harvey Eade that battled on for a nett 77 to claim the first trophy of the season followed in close second by Conal Downing with a net78. The next event was the first round of the medal cup where Ben Newman showed his class with a solid 73, just pipping Harvey Eade on count back. The third and final trophy event of the easter break was the Glen Spindler Cup, the first time this event has been competed for since 2006 and it was great to see Conal Downing back in the frame, after most of the season off last year due to injury, he posted a sublime nett 68 to take victory by 5 strokes over Josh Altham. The order of merit is now closely contended with Harvey eade still leading the way on 126 points but a strong few competitions has seen canal downing move from last place to second on 90 points.
A busy easter break finished with a team event away at Bungay where Jake and  Kasey Bailey along with Ben Newman competed in the Junior Team Championship, unfortunately the team lost out by just 9 points. It has been a great couple of weeks and I have enjoyed organising all of the junior trophy events, the next major event in the 2nd round of the Lowestoft GC Knock Out Cup on the 23rd April.
