Seniors Beaumont Captain Billy Donachie will be delighted with the form of Alan Bidwell, after he won the Marshall Cup on Sunday. In damp conditions, Alan shot an excellent gross 80 for a net 67 to beat runner-up Tony Molloy by one shot. The competition was also a qualifier for the England Golf Fullers London Pride Gold Medal, Alan’s score of net 67 will hopefully be enough to secure his place in the final at Frilford Heath in August. Third place went to the in-form David Porter (who recently won the prestigious Deterding Cup at Sheringham), with a net 69. David just edged Ian Mace on a count back, Ian will be kicking himself after a birdying the first, he went on to record a five over par 9 at the second to ruin any chance of victory. The fifth and final prize went to Lee Hunter with a net 70.
