Rookery Park AM-AM Sponsored by Roundhouse Ltd Friday 19th June 2015
On the back of last year's successful sponsorship of the AM-AM by Roundhouse Ltd, Martin Rolf kindly agreed to renew the companies sponsorship of this years event. Again, with a guaranteed prize fund of £1,500, a field of 23 teams were attracted to another fabulous day at Rookery Park.
In the AM-AM competition a team comprising Martin Scott, Paul Perry, Warren Graham, and Robert Pettett took the first prize of Blu-ray players with their score of 108 points. Runners-up and picking up Sunderland waterproof jackets were the team of Graham Shillings, Steve Whiteside, Barry Branch, and Mark Henderson with their score of 105 points. Third place and Karcher Pressure Washers went to James Nolloth, Ian Foxton, Bryan Swann, and Marc Hunt. with their score of 104 points. There was also a challenge on the par 3 14th, players paid £2 to try and beat assistant professional Ed Garrard's score on the hole, any player beating Ed's score received a sleeve of balls. It is fair to say that Ed did not have the best of days and eventually Guy Mummery took over from Ed before they ran out balls!!
The day wasn't just about winning prizes, Martin organised for Maxine Taylor and Helen Rowe from the Louise Hamilton Centre (Palliative Care Centre at the James Paget Hospital) to come along a set up a raffle, along with the raffle of a Motocaddy Electric Trolley the ladies raised over £1,300 on the day.
