Stevens Challenge Cup Sunday 22nd May 2015
Richard Doddington produced a superb round of golf to win Sunday's Stevens Challenge Cup Medal. Richard shot a nett 65 (gross 74) to win by four shots, runner-up was Kevin Fitzgerald who just edged Brendan Lyell on a count back. Richard's round of 74 included 2 two's on the 4th and 14th holes at which point he was level par gross. A couple of bogies in the last four holes, did not prevent Richard from winning his first individual major for some time. Fourth and fifth place went to Darren Stannard and Graeme Brown with rounds of nett 71.
Mike Penney also had a successful day after holing his 4 iron tee shot on the par 3 4th hole. Mike (pictured below) admitted that he had struggled to concentrate after his ace, as it was so early in his round.
