Hambro Team unable to cope with the heat

Suffolk Golf Union Hambro Cup Round 2 Sunday 18th June

On a sweltering day at Bungay & Waveney Valley GC, where temperatures on the hottest day of the year reached over 32 degrees, the Club's Hambro team put up a great fight against their close neighbours from Bungay.

The Bungay team, including their new scratch member Alex Taylor made home advantage count in the morning, as they finished 9 up. In the afternoon the Rookery team of Jon Fisher & Kasey Bailey, Dwayne Barber & Andy Coleman, Graham Garrod & Craig Bloodworth, & Ian Foxton & James Nolloth, got to grips with the conditions and made the match much closer than the overall result of 14 down suggests.

The Bungay team now face Gorleston the 1/4 finals.
