Smith & Emeny Deliver the Pro Challenge Trophy

Pro Challenge Trophy Sunday 24th August 2017

Anthony Smith and close friend Julian (Jules) Emeny, were victorious in Sunday's Pro Challenge Trophy. Their score of 43 Pts over 17 holes was 1 clear of runners-up Andy Hetherington & Ian Mace. Third, fourth, & fifth place pairs of Martin Scott & Gordon Maclean, Simon Coote & Barry Eastaugh, and Peter Bunn & Richard Boon also scored 42 Pts. Nearest the pin prizes went to Simon Howes on the 9th and Nigel Wigg on the 14th.

This year Club Professional Gary Kitley ran a Speedgolf competition on the par 5 18th hole, teams lined up along the fairway waiting for their team members to play. Gary then sounded the Klaxon and the first team member tee off, with players running (or walking) to the ball to play their shot as quickly as they could. The winners in 48.9 seconds were Marc Hunt, James Nolloth, Bryan Swann, & Stephen Powell. The world record is 34.8 seconds set  by a team of French European Tour Professionals.
